Thursday – September 19, 2013; Psalm 113

Who is like the Lord our God, who is seated on high, who looks far down on the heavens and the earth?
He raises the poor from the dust, and lifts the needy from the ash heap, to make them sit with princes,
with the princes of his people.
He gives the barren woman a home, making her the joyous mother of children.
Praise the Lord!

God loves us, pure and simple…

We have been given the gift of life, and the gift of children, and are called to make the most of this gift…this call is not for us to be perfect, but to enjoy and live our lives to the fullest, and in faith in God‘s love!

…to be the joyous parents of children (especially at times when being a parent can seem less than joyous)!!!

Life is to be a celebration!  However, there are times when we take the miracle of life for granted…as it can seem old and we can get tired…but if we stop to think about it, its amazing that we are even alive and able to share this world together, while being immersed in the grace of God!  How amazing it all can be!!  Those of us who have watched our children come into the world, have seen the miracle of life first hand as this new person took their first good breaths of air, and woke up into the world.

And we have seen more miracles as we have helped them to grow up; signs of God‘s grace in our lives.

God loves us just as we are called love our children, without condition!

Loving our children does not mean we have to like everything they do…I do not even like everything I do!  However, it means that no matter what…we continue to love these children we are raising on our own, just as God continues to love us, regardless of what we do!

This is grace, mercy, forgiveness and LOVE!

God loves us, and this is our hope and our strength!  Together we share this love with our children and with all those around us, as best we can!

Let us Pray:

God thank you that you love us so!  Please help us to share this unconditional love with our children, and with those we care about in the world, and to be forgiving when they act in ways we do not care for.  Thank you the steadfast love you give us, and for showing us what it means to be a perfect parent to your way-ward children.

Amen
