Mark 3:25 — “And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand.”
It seems that our ‘house’ has become divided against itself, the evidence is clear in the culture of contention that has arisen, the whole: us vs. them mentality that feeds television ratings, and powers political machines.
This culture of contention has turned us against ourselves, and has also fed the hatred and sickness that some people harbor in their hearts, which had led the tragic loss of life, time and time again.
It is time to stop focusing on sayings like “Don’t Tread On Me” and remember that we all share this ‘tread’ along the same stony road of life together. There is no US and no THEM, but there is a WE!
Together WE all are responsible for the care of our brothers and sisters, especially those who are sick in mind or spirit. It is time to accept that we will never agree on everything, but that we can still work together to heal our world, and instead of letting our differences pull us apart, we can learn from them and grow in faith and fellowship as we do.
For it is only by working together that we can make our world a better place, a place where we all rise up to glory together, rather than fall in pieces in a pool of despair!
